The Rate Card Electronic Ads
More and more often, newspapers want the advertisers to submit ads electronically. Most newspapers accept PDF files, and sometimes ads made in either Photoshop or Illustrator. Some also accept QuarkXpress or Adobe InDesign files. There are minor problems that can arise from this. Most newspaper creative and production departments are on Macintoshes, while the advertisers may be using PC's. People use different programs and fonts, and the artwork that looks good on the advertiser's screen might not look good in the newspaper. When in doubt you can talk to your manager about the formats your newspaper can accept to minimize these problems. Next: Deadlines
