Pickup
At most newspapers, a pickup is the term used for re-running
an ad that has run in your paper in the recent past. Since many newspapers
don't keep ads after a certain amount of time, which varies, your manager
can tell you exactly how long you have to re-run an ad before it drops
out of the system and needs to be re-created. So you should check this
box if the ad ran within the last month or so and doesn't need to be
changed at all.
Pickup with corrections
If you'd like to pickup an ad that ran previously with your paper within
the time frame allowed, but it needs some minor changes, then check
this box, abbreviated PU with CX. Most
papers let the salesperson make the minor changes right onto the tearsheet
itself. Remember that if the ad needs more extensive changes then you
should check off the set ad check box instead.
Camera-ready/electronic ads
Camera-ready ads can come into your publication on glossy paper or electronically.
Either way, they're completely finished and ready for publication. Check
the box marked camera ready if that's the case.
Film
In some cases, such as special magazine sections, film, a positive photograph
on transparent film may be supplied. Check this box if this is the
case.
